Role in the Multicultural Center: Coordinator of Student Success & Outreach
What do you enjoy most about working in the MC?
Working in the Multicultural Center brings so many students into our space. I love engaging with our incredibly talented and bright students. I learn so much from their experiences, journeys, and achievements. Working with students is the highlight of my time in the Multicultural Center.
Favorite MC event/memory
Our end of the year programs have been the highlight of my time here like the Hispanic Leadership Banquet, Harambee, and the Diversity Scholarship Program Banquet. It puts what I do into great perspective. Celebrating each student and their achievements, and ceremoniously bidding farewell to each graduating senior is awesome! Our office has a hand in the full student process, so it’s awesome to see the final product, graduation!!
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, binge-watching Netflix series, trying new restaurants, and playing with my dog Sebastian.
How would people describe you?
I think my students would describe me as someone who is willing to listen when you need a lending ear; someone who is supportive, but a person who knows when to give tough love. I try to be a cheerleader for all my students, and I try not to take everything too seriously!
